First opened in 1977, Paris' Centre Georges Pompidou has managed to achieve something that few cultural centers have: it's thrived as a space where art and culture are fully accessible and open to the general public, rather than smacking of elitism. To the staff's credit, they send us extra dessert to compensate but again, I'd expect restaurants of this caliper to get orders correctly.
You will not disappoint!!!!!!!!! We were placed indoors, but the outdoor area has heaters for the cold and decor was fantastic to fit with the rest of the Pompidou. Whether you visit in the daytime or the evening you will be pleased as it sits up top of a modern art museum. Enclosed in a transparent Plexiglass tunnel, it gives access to the Modern Art museum, the panoramic terrace and the Georges restaurant. Most Parisians have warmed to the industrial, Lego-like exterior that caused a scandal when it opened in 1977.
This restaurant is not really about the food, though it is fine but nothing spectacular.
There's often a long line to get in to the library: to avoid waiting, come earlier or later in the day.

We ordered several appetizers, our meal, and amazing desserts.
In total, our dinner came out to be about $200. For dessert we had the sherbet which was simple but tasty. The truffle mushroom ravioli was easily the best ravioli I've ever had in my life and the nutella milkshake was also amazing.They have an indoor and outdoor patio that you can sit at. A large resource of cultural articles, photos, recipes and travel information is continually being built with free access for everyone. We were promptly seated in the inside section (they have an inside and outside section) and the server came over right after we were seated. The only mild disappointment was the Pinot noir. They also had as choices, a lemon meringue pie, apple pie, mille feuille, chocolate fondant, gelatin, ice cream, and Rocamadour cheese.It was a happy moment winding down after the museum visit and watching a beautiful sunset. We ate dinner here on 12/24 and had a very good experience and good food. Not sure why this place has lower reviews but my friends and I had an absolutely fantastic time here for our last meal in Paris.We booked reservations very easily online for a party of 5 for a 7PM dinner on a Sunday night.

I came in with mixed feelings after hearing both great words from my hotel concierge but saw some mediocre reviews on Yelp.

The outside escalator climbs the front of the building like a lighted snake. Thanks for visiting! I had to experience it myself. The French know how to serve you right. Since its inauguration in 1977, the futuristic building has been the source of many criticisms, some called it an eyesore, others praised its high-tech architecture made up of colourful pipes and massive steel struts. If there are two names to remember about the Pompidou Centre’s construction, they would be those of its architects: The architects wanted to free up space inside the building by placing all service equipment outside. # hard, plastic, uncomfortable furniture. Fantastic! And yes, the view was fantastic. We also all got glasses of wine, although I don't remember the wine I ordered I know it was suggested by the waitress and tasted amazing. 2.5 hours later and the "VIP" table is empty as well as half the restaurant.
I ordered two tasting menu (125 euros) and even discussed the choice of entrees with the server, yet I was brought the flavor menu (95 euros) which to be honest, I didn't noticed until the bill came. The drink was strong and super delicious.We also ordered champagne and it was nice and cool. I also ordered octopus in addition but the food never came out. Find out more. Did not want to share!!! It was divine and I wished for two! Me being the "rebel" decided to sit next to my partner and got to enjoy the beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower at night, which I might add is amazing and a reason to dine with the limited high floor restaurants in Paris. I also think it helps to speak French when dealing with the staff.
