New Delhi: Intelligence Bureau (IB) staffer Ankit Sharma’s brutal murder accused ‘Salman’ alias ‘Nanhe’ has revealed some chilling details about the crime within hours of his arrest by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The killers were aware that Sharma was an employee of the Intelligence Bureau. According to the initial investigation, Ankit Sharma had returned from office at around 5 pm on February 25 and had stepped out with his friends. He also said that the agencies have also taken the data from Uttar Pradesh to identify the people who indulged in the riots in February in which 52 people lost their lives and over 263 were injured. They were reportedly taken into custody in connection with a probe into Delhi violence. “We have received a number of videos from the public and all those videos are being analysed with the data of the northeast Delhi residents with the help of their voter cards and driving licences through a software,” he said. The videos have been taken by some of the locals there and this was confirmed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah durimng his reply to a short duration debate in the Rajya Sabha on Delhi riots. The initial probe into the brutal murder of Intelligence Bureau official Ankit Sharma has revealed that there was a strong possibility of the murder being a ‘targeted killing’ and not a random act of violence, reports Times of India.
