He was such a big personality and so full of life. For 18 ½ years, he was a storekeeper for KCP&L and was involved in the IBEW Local 412 Union. Jeff married the love of his life, Deanna Lang, in 1991, and they have a beloved daughter Katherine, in 2002. It was an honor to work for Jeff, he was an inspiration to all. God bless all of you.

Jeff grew up going to First Baptist Church, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and later attended Northwood Church of Keller, Texas. I have had the opportunity to work with Jeff off and on over the last 20 years. We have known Jeff since he was a boy. I was only blessed with 5 short months of working with Jeff but those months were some of my happiest. I worked at Southern care with Jeff 2002 and recently left. Jeff was out of town on a trip so I took the top that Dede had provided and assembled it to an iron base that looks similar to the iron that holds a whiskey barrel together.
I enjoyed hearing Jeff talk about his family with love and pride. I feel I am truly a better person for having known and learned from him. I know guys appreciated his passion for a good bourbon. Jeff was born on September 30, 1965 and graduated from Truman High School in the class of 1983. Jeff always kept me on my toes and Andrew studying his geography facts. I was so sorry to hear of Jeff’s passing, so young and full of passion for his work. May God grant you peace during this difficult time. Jeff’s survivors include his son, Ashten Lang; nieces Cristina, Jamie, and Mandy; parents-in-law Jerry & Gayle West; two dogs Taco and Brindle; and many friends.
