An open letter to Larry The Cable Guy: Hello Larry, It's me, David Cross. wowsa that was one heck of a rip.i am not a big fan of larry...and while i understand our obesession with fat jokes, farts, and stuff....that's too much. All rights reserved
That was one hell of a comedy smackdown.
I farted up a fartstorm right there in the Flyin' J Travel Center. LLC.
Tribus: The Eye of Terror, hunting the blue and gold. Certainly more so than the "You might be a redneck..." guy. Followers 0. I have listened to a few things by David Cross and liked him when he was in Mr. Show, but I think the letter is very non-altruistic and it shouldn't be. I like his politics and he reminds me more of a funny guy than a comedian, if you get my drift. Software has been extensively modified by the DU administrators.

| Donate, About DU I am not a person who give a shit what your view point is, I will listen to you if you are funny. It's very annoying at this point. If I were a standup, I'd be him. |-- The DU Lounge I wish I could go back 6 years to the time I saw David Cross sitting at a bar so I could buy him a beer. I mean, I like him as a comedic actor, but as a comic, he's lame. I don't find him funny. hahahaDouble funny because I love David Cross and simultaneously hate Larry.I'm about halfway through.... he's really ripping Larry apart. God that phrase got fucking old. By telephant, February 28, 2006 in Amps.
The Rolling Stone article if you want to read it.
He puts his opinions and politics in front of the comedy.
I somehow came across that Rolling Stone article and thought, "Hmm...I wonder if anything's going to come of this?"
I thought the article barely stopped short of accusing Larry of succeeding through racism. heres a guy who blatantly dumbs himself down to appeal to fucking retards to make a quick buck.

I could do with out Larry's key phrase though. Well, needless to say I farted. Ad Choices, SO, I went and got your book, "Gitting-R-Donned", and excitedly skimmed past the joke about that one time you farted and something farty happened, on past the thing about the fat girl who farted and finally found it, . I now have the Mr. Show theme running triumphantly through my head.
Hmm... Dan Whitney, from Nebraska. Got a message for Democratic Underground? That letter was not hilarious. David Cross (born some decades ago in a red state) is a very anti-American Jewish stand-up comedian who regularly blasts great, hyper-intelligent Americans such as Larry the Cable Guy and Toby Keith. I think Larry can be funny. |-- Political Videos
He just reminds me of all the annoying "alternative" assholes from college that thought they were a lot smarter and more insightful than they were. And this little rant against Larry fits into that. Larry the Cable Guy is totally unfunny. However, David Cross kind of sucks, too. Sign in to follow this . Give me David Cross and Mr. Show any day of the week.

Some thoughts:I think David Cross is hilarious and intelligent.I think the "Git er done" guy is fcking intolerable.I hate the 'celebrate how stupid we are' attitude.I don't think David Cross is exactly the height of intellectual humor (glass houses and all that).I don't mind ANY race, creed, color, religion, or sexual orientation being made fun of, including my own.I hate PC anything.

I fartingly bought the book and took it home with an excitement I haven't experienced since I got Bertha Chudfarter's Grandma drunk and she took her teeth out and blew me as I was finger banging her while wearing a Jesus sock puppet in the back of the boiler room at The Church of the Redeemer off I-20 (I don't care who you are, that's funny.).

I do remember when I first came across the RS article, and thinking to myself, "When is making fun of other races not racist?" I think they're both mediocre talents at best and find the letter kind of boring and self indulgent.
I think Larry can be funny.
But he's countering all his claims in a fairly intelligent manner, too. Recently I was shooting something for my friends at "Wonder Showzen" (the funniest, most subversive comedy on American T.V. Larry the Cable Guy is the biggest fucking rip off in the world heres a guy who blatantly dumbs himself down to appeal to fucking retards to make a quick buck. I hate most of those guys.
David Cross seems to be a pretty intelligent guy. Still, there will always be a rift between people that like comedians like him, and ones that like Larry the Cable Guy, that won't ever get bridged.
I'm going to have to save this. He's defending himself, but he is also attacking the fan base while doing so which IMHO don't deserve to be rediculed even thought most of them are unintelligent to find his humor anything but low grade school humor.
Statements like "I don't care who you are" aren't invitation to comedy, they're challenges to laugh or be singled out. |-- Archives I wonder if this feud will be entertaining us for years to come? Thanks for posting it.

David Cross' standup is unwatchable garbage.
